Mario Balotelli says he is "grateful" to Liverpool for giving him a chance as he prepares to complete a season-long loan move to AC Milan.
Balotelli has failed to make an impact in 12 months at Anfield since arriving from the Rossoneri in a £16 million deal.
Milan announced on Tuesday that the Italy international had passed a medical, and are expected to confirm shortly that the move has gone through.
Balotelli was frozen out of the first-team squad at Liverpool after a series of disappointing performances last season, when he scored just one Premier League goal.
He has not played a single game for the Reds, either competitive or friendly, since April, and has been made to train away from the first-team in recent weeks.

But posting on his Facebook page, the 25-year-old wrote: "I'm grateful to Liverpool FC and Liverpool fans for the time and opportunities you gave me.
"It's not a goodbye but rather a farewell. I'll be supporting you guys all the way in every competition... unless you face AC Milan."
