Arsenal have had pretty serious troubles in their quest to find a quality striker in the last years, as despite the obvious qualities of Olivier Giroud, the Frenchman has failed to deliver when it matters the most. Everyone expected that the Gunners will finally sign a big name this summer, but Arsene Wenger has once more done the opposite.
On Sunday morning, Arsenal officially announced that they have signed the 21-year-old Japanese striker Takuma Asano. Asano won the 2015 Best Young Player award in the J-League last season and surely possesses fine qualities and has the potential to grow, but is he really what the Gunners needed?
Asano will probably get some action next year, but it’s quite doubtful that he will be able to cure Arsenal’s problems up front.
